Time Warner Cable (TWC) announced that it will be sponsoring three upcoming conferences that support African-American and Hispanic communities: the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), National Council of La Raza (NCLR) and National Urban League (NUL). In addition, TWC will air Public Service Announcements in support of the organizations and have an employment booth at each event to continue its commitment to recruiting a diverse workforce.

“Whether it’s about our people, our programming or the communities where our customers live, Time Warner Cable has a long tradition of championing and leveraging our diverse perspectives,” said Jerrell Moore, TWC’s Vice President of Diversity and Inclusion. “In that spirit, we’re proud to support LULAC, NCLR and NUL – world-class organizations that share our commitment to embracing different perspectives and creating better opportunities for people, including our customers and employees, across the country.”

In addition, LULAC will receive a $20,000 stipend from TWC’s Research Program on Digital Communications to support research for science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education in the Hispanic community.  TWC’s Research Program will also award the National Urban League with a $20,000 stipend to fund research about minority businesses and the use of technology.

TWC was named a Top Company for People of Color by the National Association for Multi-Ethnicity in Communications. The list was compiled based on several categories, including the hiring and promotion of people of color to its management and workforce, as well as the alignment of diversity with its business goals and objectives. The Human Rights Campaign has also named TWC as one of the nation’s best places to work for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people and gave TWC a perfect 100 percent score on its annual Corporate Equality Index.
