Becoming a certified minority-owned business is a big step. But as I learned through the years, it is only the beginning of a journey.
One of the first measures companies take when identifying efficiencies, streamlining operations and reducing costs, is to consolidate supply chain/procurement vendors. For better or for worse, this practice tends to favor large-scale suppliers who can usually offer more goods and services for less.
