In 1990, President George H. Bush approved a joint resolution designating November as National American Indian Heritage month. Similar proclamations have been issued each year since 1994.
Genuine Leadership is extremely complex and systematic in nature. Succinctly stated by the NC Standards for School Ars, “It is not just knowing what to do, but why to do it, how to do it and when to do it.” It is the ability to build relationships and to influence change.
Who is/was your most influential leadership mentor and why? I don’t have one mentor in leadership. I try to assess the best demonstrated leadership from people and I apply their approach to a given situation. There are many solutions to a given situation; therefore I believe I need to have a worldly view in order to be more creative and innovative.
After the planes hit the towers in New York. I was at home watching in horror just as millions of other Americans were doing that morning. I found myself crying and afraid of what may be coming next. As a member of the Air National Guard I thought for a moment about what this may mean for me personally, as well as for the country and I was paralyzed with fear.
